- This is an ulcer (a cut) in the rectum.

- Anal pain
- Mucous/blood passed with a bowel movement

- Excessive straining with a bowel movement
|
 |
- Usually performed via a proctoscope exam
|
 |
- Decrease strain with bowel movements
- Bulking agents such as stool softeners or psyllium (Metamucil)
|
 |
- Anal Fissure
- Anorectal infection
- Internal Hemorrhoid
- Anal Cancer
