  • The esophagus is the tube in the chest that carries food from the mouth to the stomach.  Webs are thin membranes (extra tissue) located in the middle or upper esophagus.

  • Difficulty swallowing solid foods

  • Endoscopy (scope passed down the throat into the esophagus)

  • Dilation of the affected portion of the esophagus (essentially "mash" the webs flat)
