The Guru Picks Off the Screen

The Health Guru / eCureMe LIFE
Your mom used to say it pretty much like this:
"Get away from the TV or you’ll go blind!"
..And what did you do? You just started spending more and more time in
front of monitors of all kinds. Why didn’t you listen to your mom?
You know she’s usually right in the end.
How many hours a day do you spend in front of a monitor? This includes
office time, your home computer and of course, the television screen.
Even at the market they are inescapable. Standing in line, you need to
watch Martha Stewart serving up Valentine’s cookies from the clink.
Can’t we get a moment of peace?
No.
Sorry, but you know your Guru lives in reality, and only escapes through
art. If you want to imagine you can turn back the clocks, go try to
find a Delorian and do so, but the fact is that there are screens
everywhere, so we need to deal with it.
Here we go.
At work, there is nothing much you can do. If you are in a cubicle,
office or self employed, the computer screen is in front of you at all
times.
Being in front of the screen for more than an hour at a time is
extremely dangerous. You need a break - and no, slouching down and
rubbing your neck and then pushing your eyes into your socket for a
second is not going to do it.
What you need to do is stand up, go to a window, or outside, and look at
something natural in the distance for an extended period of 30 seconds
or so. It is a minor meditation as well as an eye exercise.
Do this two or three times and then relax for a minute (Go to the
restroom or get a drink of water so nobody accuses you of slcacking).
Focusing on objects too close to you can cause loss of vision as it
strains the retina in your peepers.
When you roll inside, I’m sure that, after you check your email,
you flip on the TV and think about food. Those colors in front of you
on the screen are not real. They are fabricated to be perfect. Life’s
colors are not manipulated in that way, and if you aren’t careful,
you’ll flip the script on your understanding on what is real and
what is created for you.
What I mean people is that you won’t be able to deal with the real
world, which never fits on a screen. You need to give yourself a holiday
from screens of all kind. Don’t go running off to the woods
now - your Guru doesn’t have time to go tracking you down.
If you show up at a friend’s place where everyone is watching
television, walk over to the book case and start looking through those.
Spend some time and check out the art on their walls. You may even be
able to start up a conversation - That’s when people express
their ideas to each other without a commercial or a laugh track.
What is no laughing matter are the low frequency magnetic fields that are
emitted from screens, so if you spend too much time zoning out and
Googling whatever it is you Google, those fields could alter your cell
development, which may lead to birth defects or various forms of cancer.
Now understand that this is after prolonged use. It is not natural, and
anything in to great a quantity that is man made is never going to be
that good for you.
For the next week, keep track of how many hours you spend looking at a
monitor. At the same time, keep track of how long you spend looking at
the sky, or a tree or something natural. You will no doubt find a
disproportionate balance between the two.
Try buying some plants, growing plants (no plastics) for around the house.
The added life that they bring you will do wonders to give you the
balance you need to deal with the madness of modern life, modern death
and what you can do to improve one and stop the other.
Looking at any screen for too long will dull your insides, and you know
your Guru wants your insides straight so you can face the world.
Look away my friends, look away.
Peace.
