People stop eating all together when they choose to lose weight. You might have
a few pieces of toast in the morning, a salad for lunch and then a power bar at night,
but the problem is, you¡¯re still starving.
The word ¡°dieting¡± is one that should never be mentioned when you are planning to
loose weight. It is a diet. A diet is something that you should work to build
over a lifetime, not just a short period of time. It is a lifestyle, not a quick
fix. After finishing with a crash diet, you¡¯ll return to your old ways, and those
little rolls of joy will start coming back.
Diets that tell you to eat 6-7 small meals a day only keep you thinking about food
all the time without ever being fully satisfied.

If you don¡¯t, you¡¯ll probably be running to the fridge at midnight to eat a scoop
of cookie dough and go to bed feeling your tummy.
BREAKFAST
Eating a huge breakfast is a must. Make sure it is low in fat and very high in
protein with a decent sized serving of carbohydrates (toast, cereal or potatoes).
Now, you may ask, ¡°How in the world can I eat a breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash
browns and toast without piling on the fat?¡±
It can be done; you just have to be creative. First, when eating cereal, make sure
that you are using non-fat milk. A regular gallon of milk has about 6 grams of fat
per serving, and we usually pour about 2 servings of milk with a bowl of cereal.
When cooking your eggs, only use the whites of the egg. The yolk contains all of
the fat and cholesterol. Instead of using oil, use a cooking spray such as PAM.
This will cut out another 10-15 grams of fat. This can also be used to fry up your
potatoes.
Along with a glass of OJ, you have just made a high protein, low fat breakfast that
will give you power and energy for your morning and afternoon tasks. I know it¡¯s a
lot, but if you eat the majority of your calories in the early portion of your day,
your body has more time to burn the fat.
LUNCHTIME
After that big breakfast, you won¡¯t be starving when making a decision about lunch.
Forget the burgers and pasta my friends. You are going to eat some lean meat
(chicken, turkey and in some rare cases, ham). If you order chicken or turkey breast
(white meat), the fat grams are considerably less than of dark meat.
If you want a sandwich, make sure the following items are nowhere to be found:
Mayonnaise, Cheese, Avacado or Bacon. All of these may be tasty, but each packs
a tremendous amount of fat and calories, which is what you are trying to burn
throughout the day.
If you want hot food, order Chinese dishes with white meat chicken, steamed rice,
and light oil. You might come off as a bit high maintenance, but you¡¯ll feel much
lighter without the grease.
Protein burns much faster than Fat and Carbohydrates, which is why a diet high in
protein and low in those other areas helps you lose weight.
DINNER TIME
This is the tough part. You¡¯ve worked all day and you need to satisfy your food
urges. If you really want to lose weight quickly, you need to stay away from all
carbohydrates as much as possible. If you do choose to eat pasta or rice, make
sure they are in very small portions. Grilled Chicken Breast, Tofu or one of the
many soy based fat free meat products can serve as a nice bit of protein for you.
Sauces can add much flavor to whatever you¡¯re eating, and as long as you use little
or no oil, you should be OK on your fat calorie count.
The most important thing here is that you need to eat your dinner at least 3 hours
before you go to bed. If you eat right before you go to sleep, your body will not
burn the fat, and you will wake-up with a little bit more of yourself than you went
to sleep with.
Eating like this will not make your body shed 10 pounds in five days. It is not a
quick fix. However, if dropping 20 pounds in 3 months and keeping them away for
