VITAMIN B12

THE BREAKDOWN
  • Takes energy from food source
  • Breaks down fatty and amino acids
  • Maintains health nervous system
  • Essential for hair growth needed to make DNA
  • Ensures proper growth spurts

IN THE BODY
Once the body releases B12 from the protein during digestion, the compound Intrinsic Factor is required in order for the body to absorb B12.

WITHDRAWALS
Without the proper amount of Vitamin B12, one can develop a loss of balance, chronic fatigue or constant irritability. Sign that you are not receiving enough Vitamin B12 are diarrhea, loss of appetite, constipation, gait disturbance, "Falling Asleep" of the hands or feet or loss of short-term memory.

NATURAL FORMS
Natural forms of Vitamin B12 can be found in milk, fish, eggs and meat.

DAILY DOSE
  • Women 2.4 mcg
  • Men 2.4 mcg
  • During pregnancy 2.6 mcg
  • During lactation 2.8 mcg

OVER DOSAGE
You can never have enough Vitamin B12.

FIGHTING AGENTS
If you are taking sleeping pills, estrogen, consuming large amounts of alcohol, laxatives or antacids, then the Vitamin B12 that you are taking may not be reaching your body.

SUPPLEMENTS
B12 is often used for a wide variety of ailments. It is, to be blunt, the supreme supplement.

WARNINGS
If you have a low level of Potassium, you should not be using Vitamin B12.
